SUNDAY SCHOOL: 9:30-10:30 a.m. Sunday
Mornings
9:30 a.m. Sunday School is an excellent opportunity for
the families of Grace Community Church to come together
to attend bible studies that offer age appropriate
teachings and well-grounded biblical truths. There is
something for everyone, including a nursery! So whether
you have a baby or whether you are 100 years old, we
have a place for you during the 9:30 a.m. Sunday School.
Children & Youth
The Grades 1 - 12 classes are using "Great
Commission Publications" cirriculum titled "Show Me
Jesus". The central teaching of this material places God
Himself as our Sovereign Creator and our Redeemer King.
The main theme emphasized in all classes is on the
Shorter Catechism Question #1:'What is man's cheif end?'
with the answer being... 'to glorify God and enjoy Him
forever!'
The children and youth are taught about God's Covenant
of Grace that ties all of scripture and about God's
promise to always be their God.
The children are divided into groups as follows:
The Preschoolers class is using "Kids Quest Catechism
Club," a program designed to help the children study and
memorize "Firsts Catechism" and promoting a clear
understanding of Biblical truths.
The Sunday School programs offered for the children are
also very relevant for those families who have children
who graduated out of our Children's Church Program that
runs during the service. This time in class will provide
for much needed biblical teachings in truth that our
children need today in a very difficult and confusing
world, with a goal to develop a deep personal
relationship with Jesus Christ.
ADULTS
At our 9:30 a.m. Sunday School
Elder
George Pentland and/or Elder Richard Dykema are leading the class with
a DVD study entitled "Amazing Grace". Please call the
church for
the specifics on the bible studies currently running.
CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS DURING OUR
WORSHIP SERVICE
NURSERY is provided for infants and
toddlers up to age 2 throughout the morning, and during
evening Worship Services for pre-schoolers.
CHILDREN'S CHURCH is offered Sunday
mornings during our Worship Service. Following praise
time and prayer, the boys and girls are dismissed to
participate in the following programs:
Junior Flock: Ages 6, 7 & 8 years old
We have a dynamic program utilizing resources from
Children's Ministry International which take us through
the Westminster Shorter Catechism. Key Bible stories,
Scripture verses and special crafts dominate our lessons
which we are confident will impact the lives of your
children.
Big Lambs: Ages 4 and 5 year olds
This age group has a program suited to their particular
age, using Great Commission Publications program; 'Show
Me Jesus' and corresponding music. The children learn to
trust God to always keep His promises, by hearing about
many people from the Bible who did just that.
Little Lambs: Ages 2 and 3 year olds
Little Lambs is a Christian program for Toddlers ages 2
-3 years old. Our Little Lambs are welcome to come
directly to their classroom when they come to Sunday
morning Worship Service. Our goal at Grace Community
Church is to begin to introduce our little ones to the
knowledge and love of God and to:
- Exemplify Jesus' love
- Reduce separation and anxiety
- Provide age appropriate activities and crafts
that relate to the bible stories.
We teach the little ones that God loves them using
"God Loves Me" Bible Story book set from Faith Alive
Resources. Each book retells a bible story in simple
language that the children can understaand. Wonderful
pictures and follow-up play suggestions, along with a
take home story card all help to reinforce the story to
the children.
The children of Little Lambs, Big Lambs and Junior
Flock also work hard each fall preparing for our annual
Children's/Youth Christmas Program.
Praise be to the Lord for the gift of teachers and
helpers who minister in His Service.
